I want to thank you personally for your willingness to join such a noble party. Living in Ripon, the birthplace of the Republican Party, carries an extra sense of weight. I want to honor the past, understand the present, move forward a virtuous organization, and lay a solid moral foundation for future generations to continue the work.
March 20th, 1854, a group of democrats, free soilers, and whigs, amongst others, gathered in a small town in Wisconsin to make good on a check written by our founders. They formed the Republican Party to secure the blessings of liberty for men and women caught up in the horrific trade of slavery. They were abolitionists. Today we carry on the fight and recognize the plight of the pre-born as our cause. Sixty-five million pre-born children have lost their lives to the barbaric practice of abortion. We must not rest until we make good on the Creator’s promise that each life is created in his image and endowed with certain unalienable rights.
May God richly bless you as you seek to come out into the civil and political square to secure liberty for all.
